Merely — A Gratitude Journal · Last updated July 18, 2026
Merely is built so that we never see your data. This policy is short because there is very little to disclose.
Everything you write is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We do not operate servers, we cannot read your entries, and we never transmit them anywhere else. Deleting the app (and its iCloud data via iOS Settings) removes everything.
Nothing. Merely has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers.
If you choose the optional one-time purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases; it receives an anonymous identifier and purchase receipt — never your journal or identity. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
The optional daily reminder is scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves it.
If this policy changes, the date above will change with it. Questions: open an issue on GitHub.
